Plano's proposed arena near The Shops at Willow Bend is the only city item on Plano ballots this fall, and it will appear for residents in both counties. The council's election ordinance notes the city sits in Collin and Denton counties, and the measure shows up on each county's ballot as City of Plano Proposition A.

If approved, the city could pay for the arena with any of five levies: a car rental tax of up to 5%, a parking charge of up to $3 per vehicle at events, an admissions tax of up to 10% per ticket, a fee of up to $5,000 per game on each member of a major league team that plays there, and a 2% hotel tax that would bring the combined hotel rate in Plano to 15%.

The arena plan was covered in detail in earlier reporting.

Collin County residents will also see the county's four bond propositions and the Collin College bond. Contested county races include county judge, where Republican Chris Hill faces Democrat John R. "Buster" Brown.

Voters must register by Monday, Oct. 5. Early voting is Oct. 19-30. Each county posts its own sample ballot: Collin's at collincountytx.gov and Denton's at votedenton.gov.
