Plano's fall outdoor calendar has two big dates coming up: a Beatles sing-along under the stars next weekend and a downtown Halloween street festival later in the month.

Beatles Night, Oct. 10

The city's annual Beatles Night is Saturday, Oct. 10, at Red Tail Pavilion, 2801 E. Spring Creek Parkway. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the music runs from 7 to 10:30 p.m. A tribute band will cover the Fab Four's catalog, from the early hits through the later albums, according to the event listing.

Tickets cost $18 for adults and $16 for seniors 60 and older, military members, first responders and children 12 and under. Every ticket carries a $2 service fee.

The concert is set up as a lawn picnic. Concertgoers may bring blankets, lawn chairs and coolers, and the event is BYOB, but glass containers are not allowed. Food vendors will also be selling on site for anyone who would rather not pack dinner.

Rest In Plano, Oct. 24

Two weeks later, the free R.I.P. Fest returns to the Downtown Plano Arts District and Haggard Park, 1021 E. 15th St. It runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, and spreads into the Haggard Parking Lot.

Organizers promise carnival rides, live performances, costumed characters roaming the streets and photo spots, and costumes are encouraged for all ages. Fall festival food and drinks will be for sale, and Fillmore Pub plans themed cocktails and mocktails.

Both events are produced by the City of Plano's arts and events staff. Businesses interested in sponsoring can contact Natalie Walker, and those who want a vendor booth can reach Bryana Lampley; the R.I.P. Fest page also links an online vendor application. Details for each event are posted on plano.gov.
