Plano, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks matched New York’s two-year offer sheet for center Moussa Cissé, retaining the second-year player under a new agreement.
ESPN reported that the Knicks’ offer totaled $4.7 million over two seasons and that the Mavericks completed their match before the deadline. The result is a one-year restriction on a trade without Cissé’s consent.
On July 22, Dallas announced Cissé had signed a multi-year contract but said its terms would not be released. In 38 rookie-season games, he put up 4.5 points per outing, along with 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
The Mavericks also cited Cissé’s 15 regular-season appearances for the Texas Legends, where he averaged 14.7 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.1 blocks.
