A Scoreless Effort in Houston

Austin FC traveled to Shell Energy Stadium on Sunday, July 26, 2026, hoping to secure a result against the Houston Dynamo FC, but the visit ended in a 3-0 defeat. The visiting side could not find the back of the net despite generating offensive pressure, falling short against a Dynamo squad that capitalized on early opportunities.

Early Strike Defines the Match

The complexion of the game was set in the opening half. Mateusz Bogusz opened the scoring for the home side in the 12th minute, giving Houston an early advantage. The Dynamo doubled their lead just 17 minutes later when Bogusz struck again in the 29th minute, effectively putting the game out of reach before the break.

Guilherme added a third goal in the 32nd minute, sealing the shutout for Houston.

Offensive Output vs. Defensive Solidity

Despite the loss, Austin FC’s Brandon Vázquez led all players in total shots with six attempts. However, the attack was unable to convert these opportunities against the Houston defense. Jonathan Bond was a standout for the Dynamo, making five saves to preserve the clean sheet. Bogusz was also highly active for Houston, registering four total shots, two of which resulted in goals.

Season Records Update

With this result, the Houston Dynamo FC improved their record to 8-2-6. Austin FC’s record dropped to 4-5-8. The match concluded with no further goals, leaving the final score at 3-0 in favor of the home team.
