Plano neighborhoods entering the city’s October fitness competition have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, to submit team registration information, according to the competition’s published rules. Individual participants must join the competition platform by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7. Both deadlines are local time in Plano.

The Fittest Neighborhood Competition runs through Oct. 31. Residents can count exercise such as running, cycling, lifting or other physical activity, with awards based on active minutes recorded in iMoveZenGo. The rules distinguish exercise with a defined start and finish from routine daily activity, which does not count.

Neighborhoods must be registered with the city by Oct. 6. Team members must live within the neighborhood’s boundaries, and a neighborhood needs at least five participants who log activity to qualify for neighborhood-level prizes.

The city lists fitness merchandise and Plano Recreation Center memberships among individual prizes. Its Neighborhood Recognition page links to the registration form and complete rules.
