Plano riders will have a new Southwest Plano GoLink zone beginning Monday, Oct. 5, as DART expands its on-demand transit coverage and changes several existing service areas.

In its Oct. 1 announcement, DART said the changes also expand the Plano Zone-to-Zone Pilot and remove its quarter-mile buffer restrictions. The agency lists Legacy West, Far North Plano, South Central Plano, North Central Plano/Chase Oaks, East Plano and East Telecom among the affected zones.

GoLink provides trips within designated service areas rather than following a conventional bus timetable. DART’s October brochure lists Southwest Plano connections at Jack Hatchell Transit Center and Northwest Plano Park & Ride. Riders should check their specific starting point and destination in the trip planner; the expansion should not be read as a promise of a direct ride between every pair of Plano addresses.

How to book and pay

The new brochure, marked effective Oct. 5, lists GoLink service from 5 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. Trips require advance booking through the GoPass app or by calling 214-515-7272. Riders who need an accessible vehicle should request one when booking.

A valid contactless DART fare covers the trip. Drivers cannot accept cash, paper passes or vouchers. DART says fares purchased through GoPass can cover both GoLink and fixed-route travel, while passes purchased by phone are valid only on GoLink. That distinction matters for a trip continuing by bus or train.

Use DART’s GoLink planning and payment guide to check a trip, and review the October zone maps. The Southwest Plano map is on printed pages 50–51. The full DART announcement lists the expansion’s intended connections.
