A Road Trip That Went Wrong
Oklahoma City’s efforts to establish early rhythm were swiftly dismantled by a relentless Houston attack. The Thunder found themselves playing from behind almost immediately, as the Rockets’ offense began chipping away at the scoreboard with precision and ferocity. By the time the first quarter concluded, the deficit had already grown to 18 points, setting a tone that Oklahoma City could never escape.
The opening period saw Houston surge ahead 33-15. Despite brief moments of resistance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, the visitors simply could not match the pace. The Rockets’ defense forced turnovers and limited second-chance opportunities, while their offense operated with fluidity that left the Thunder’s defense chasing shadows.
Second Half Struggles Continue
Houston entered halftime with a commanding 50-34 advantage. The third quarter did little to alleviate the pressure on Oklahoma City. Bogdan Bogdanovic emerged as a key offensive weapon for Houston, scoring 15 points to lead all scorers in the game. His ability to stretch the floor and finish at the rim kept the Thunder’s defense off balance.
As the fourth quarter began, Houston extended its lead further, ultimately outscoring Oklahoma City 37-20 in the final period. The Rockets’ bench provided significant support, with contributions from multiple players ensuring that any potential rally was stifled before it could gain momentum. Reed Sheppard and Tari Eason also made notable impacts, adding to the offensive load.
