Plano ISD trustees asked to put a 9.96-acre tract and two Coit Road office condos up for sale

A resolution on Tuesday's board agenda would declare the property surplus and let the superintendent advertise it and open sealed bids, which would come back to trustees for a decision.

Plano ISD could soon be selling some of its real estate.

Trustees are scheduled to vote Tuesday night on a resolution declaring two pieces of district-owned property surplus. The board meets at 5:30 p.m. in the Administration Building board room, 2700 W. 15th St.

What is on the list

The agenda describes the property as two parcels:

  • Units 102 and 110 in the Pebblecreek Professional Building Condominiums at 5804 Coit Road.
  • A tract of about 9.96 acres in Plano, Collin County. The posted agenda does not give its address or say how the district uses it today.

How a sale would work

If the resolution passes, the superintendent or her designee would be authorized to advertise the property for sale under Section 272.001(a) of the Texas Local Government Code, the agenda says. Sealed proposals would then be opened and brought back to the board, so any actual sale would require a later vote.

The item lists Johnny Hill, deputy superintendent for business, employee services and technology, as presenter. Under budget impact, the agenda says only that the effect would be "based on fair value." No minimum price or appraisal is included in the posted packet.

Also on Tuesday's agenda

Trustees are also set to adopt the district's legislative priorities for the 90th session of the Texas Legislature, which convenes in January. The agenda says a board subcommittee drafted the priorities with input from parents, teachers, business leaders and other residents, and that they will guide the district's work with lawmakers on issues such as school funding, testing and accountability.

The priorities document itself is not included in the posted agenda.

The district also plans to act on its 2027-28 course recommendations and its annual district improvement plan.
