A memorial service and vigil for Private Isabella Gonzales will take place this Saturday at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on August 1. Additional information regarding the service will be shared through the church’s official communication channels.

Gonzales, a resident of Carrollton, was killed earlier this month during an Iranian air strike in Jordan. Her death has prompted local organizations to organize tributes in her honor.

An honor ride dedicated to Gonzales will also occur on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. The ride is sponsored by Maverick-Hog and will depart from the Maverick Harley-Davidson dealership in Carrollton. Organizers have stated that all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Carrollton American Legion to assist the soldier’s family.

Details regarding Gonzales’s funeral have not yet been finalized by the U.S. Army. According to the City of Carrollton marketing manager, the funeral may not be open to the public. Further updates on the funeral arrangements will be released as plans are completed.

The community has already begun honoring Gonzales following the news of her death. Related reports indicate that she was previously removed from a list of Iran war casualties before her status was confirmed.
