Plano, Frisco, and North Texas Event Guide for Late July

North Texas residents have a variety of options for entertainment and cultural activities this week, ranging from sports competitions to live music and art exhibitions. The schedule spans multiple cities, offering free admission for several key events alongside ticketed experiences.

In Frisco, the PGA District hosts Summer Jam on July 27. The free evening features live music by the Emerald City Band, interactive golf challenges, and brand activations. Later that same week, Fields Ranch in Frisco becomes the site of the Junior PGA Championship, running from July 28 through July 31.

The tournament features 312 junior golfers competing for the title and serves as a qualifier for the 2027 U.S. Junior Ryder Cup Team.

Plano offers several distinct events. On July 27, Urban Crust Wood-Fired Pizza hosts its fourth annual Margarita Brawl. Attendees sample four signature margaritas paired with a four-course dinner and vote for their favorite cocktail.

On July 31, families can visit Legacy West for professional first-day-of-school photos. The $10 fee covers the entire group for portraits in front of a locker-themed installation near Nike and Free People.

Other regional activities include a Casino Night at Grandscape in The Colony on July 30. The free event features professional dealers from Choctaw Casino & Resort hosting classic games on the Corona Stage and Lawn. In Addison, Vitruvian Park hosts the 12th annual Vitruvian Salsa Festival on August 1.

The free evening includes salsa lessons, music by DJ Ruben Reyes, and performances by the Dallas-based band Zone D'Mambo.

Cultural and musical events continue into early August. The Courtyard Theater in Plano presents a dance performance inspired by the 1924 ballet Le Train Bleu on August 1, honoring designs by Coco Chanel and Pablo Picasso. In Irving, The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory hosts the Summer of Light Tour on the same day, featuring the Fray and Dashboard Confessional.

McKinney’s TUPPS Brewery hosts a family-friendly evening market on August 1 with local vendors and craft beer.

Legacy Food Hall in Plano welcomes the Urban Trivia game show to the Lexus Box Garden on August 2. The interactive event focuses on Black culture, offering cash prizes for correct answers. Additionally, the ArtCentre of Plano is currently hosting Texas Sculpts V, an exhibition of contemporary Texas sculpture, which runs through August 29.
