A wide range of cultural and recreational activities are scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Sept. 25-27, across Collin County and neighboring areas. The lineup includes live music, food festivals, and family-oriented events in cities such as Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and Allen.
In Plano, The Texas Pool is hosting a dog-themed pool party on Sept. 26 to benefit the Texas Pool Foundation. The event allows pets and their owners to swim together and features vendors, treats, and local animal rescues. Admission is set at $10 per person and $5 per dog.
Frisco offers several options for the weekend. On Sept. 25, a screening of Inside Out 2 is planned for 7 p.m. at PGA District, with food available from nearby restaurants and concession carts. Attendees are asked to bring blankets but not lawn chairs.
On Sept. 26, Frisco Rail Yard celebrates its 10th anniversary with live performances by Hudsy, Patrick Casey & The Bad Mangos, and Emerson. The event includes a bingo game benefiting the National Breast Cancer Foundation, drink specials, and no cover charge.
Additionally, Little Woodrow’s is holding an Oktoberfest celebration on Sept. 26, featuring seasonal beers, bratwurst, and a stein-hoisting competition, with Rollertown Beerworks providing a special draft and giveaways.
Other regional events include the opening of the State Fair of Texas at Fair Park in Dallas on Sept. 25, offering rides, livestock, and food. In McKinney, a German-inspired festival runs from Sept. 25-27, featuring weenie dog races, a brat-eating contest, and a beard and mustache competition.
