Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently considered day-to-day due to an ankle injury, according to head coach Dave Aranda. The team hopes Lagway will be able to participate in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
Lagway sustained the injury during the Bears' narrow 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener on Saturday. Despite the injury, he played the entire game and managed to lead the offense effectively, although his mobility was affected.
In his debut for Baylor, Lagway completed 27 passes out of 54 attempts, accumulating 333 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
He played a crucial role in the team's late-game comeback, throwing a 28-yard pass to Gavin Freeman on a critical fourth-and-10 play, followed by a 27-yard pass to Jadon Porter that set up a touchdown pass to Freeman just nine seconds before the game ended.
