The Dallas Cowboys will be without two defensive players for extended stretches after injuries during the opening three games of the 2026 regular season. Jonathan Bullard is expected to miss three to five weeks with a calf injury, while safety Jalen Thompson is facing at least four weeks out because of a hamstring injury.
Jerry Jones, the Cowboys' owner and general manager, provided Bullard's timetable in an interview with 105.3 The Fan. Bullard had also missed most of training camp because of an injury before joining the team during the regular season.
Thompson could be placed on injured reserve with an option to return, alongside safety P.J. Locke. Locke was moved to the list after the Cowboys lost Cobie Durant to injury the previous week. The team also saw Malik Hooker suffer a fractured forearm and DeMarvion Overshown sustain a hamstring injury in the season opener.
More injuries followed the Cowboys' loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Rio. Shavon Revel has the most favorable outlook among the latest group, according to coach Brian Schottenheimer. Revel is dealing with knee and ankle issues, but Schottenheimer said he would be brought back into practice during the week.
A possible appearance against the Texans in Week 4 remains open, although the source did not confirm whether he will play.
