Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson is expected to be sidelined for more than four weeks because of a hamstring injury, executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. The update was reported by cbssports.com.
Thompson was injured during the second quarter of Dallas’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro. He could be placed on injured reserve, according to the report, though that move was not confirmed.
The injury adds to the Cowboys’ absences at safety. Malik Hooker has missed the past two games with a forearm injury, while P.J. Locke was placed on injured reserve Saturday because of a foot injury.
Before leaving Sunday’s game, Thompson had taken every defensive snap across Dallas’ first nine-plus quarters of the season. He had recorded 17 tackles during that span.
