The Dallas Cowboys have signed tight end Mitch Van Vooren, according to Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Van Vooren's signing comes after he was waived by the New England Patriots on August 18.
The Cowboys are currently facing injuries among their backup tight ends, including Brevyn Spann-Ford, Michael Trigg, and D.J. Rogers, which has limited their options. In their most recent preseason game, the team was down to just two healthy tight ends.
Van Vooren has not yet appeared in a regular-season NFL game, but he may have an opportunity to showcase his skills in the Cowboys' final preseason matchup.
