The Dallas Cowboys are expected to be without safety Jalen Thompson for at least four weeks because of a hamstring injury, and the team is considering additions at the position.
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones provided the update, according to a report from clutchpoints.com that cited Jon Machota of The Athletic. Jones said Dallas would look for safety help because of the injuries affecting the position.
Thompson was injured during the Cowboys’ 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil on Sunday. Dallas appeared to have forced overtime late in the game, but Baltimore produced a long pass before converting a field goal at the end.
The Cowboys are 1-2 this season. Their next game is scheduled for next Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET against the 0-3 Houston Texans in Houston. The report did not identify which players Dallas may pursue to address the safety position.
