The Dallas Cowboys have completed their roster cuts, finalizing their initial 53-man roster ahead of the 2026 NFL season. The team reduced its roster from 91 players, marking a significant step as they prepare for the upcoming regular season.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that the roster decisions were particularly challenging this year, attributing it to the team's depth and talent. He stated that the Cowboys are a "deeper, better, more talented football team," which made the selection process more difficult for the coaching staff.
The finalized roster includes three quarterbacks: Dak Prescott, Joe Milton, and Sam Howell. The running back group features Javonte Williams, Malik Davis, and Hunter Luepke. The wide receiver lineup consists of CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin, Jonathan Mingo, and Camden Brown.
In addition, the roster includes three tight ends: Jake Ferguson, Brevyn Spann-Ford, and Luke Schoonmaker. The offensive line comprises nine players, while the defensive unit features five defensive tackles, six outside linebackers, four linebackers, five cornerbacks, and six safeties. The special teams unit includes three specialists: Brandon Aubrey, Bryan Anger, and Trent Sieg.
The Cowboys are also preparing to establish their practice squad and could make further personnel changes in the lead-up to their season opener in East Rutherford. Currently, several players are designated for return from injured reserve or other lists, including linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore.
