The Dallas Cowboys have restructured the contracts of players Jake Ferguson, DaRon Bland, and Kenny Clark to improve their financial flexibility as they prepare for the 2026 NFL season.
This decision is part of a series of moves made by the Cowboys during the offseason aimed at creating additional salary cap space. Notably, contracts for Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Smith, Terence Steele, and Malik Hooker have also been restructured or adjusted.
Bland and Ferguson both secured contract extensions that will keep them with the Cowboys through 2025. Bland's new deal is a four-year agreement worth $92 million, extending his stay in Dallas until 2030. Ferguson's contract is a four-year extension valued at $52 million, also lasting through 2030.
Kenny Clark has undergone contract restructuring for the second time this offseason, with his current agreement ensuring he remains with the team until 2028.
The restructuring provides the Cowboys with increased cap room, potentially allowing for more personnel options if they decide to pursue additional players. Team owner Jerry Jones has previously indicated that while he is not actively seeking high-profile additions, he remains open to opportunities that could enhance the team's performance.
"I'm even more excited today than I was when we started camp that our team is going to be one that if we can have some things go right for us, avoid some injury, we could really be something that we all want to be, and that's a team that's competing for the big game," Jones stated during training camp in Oxnard, California.
