The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for the start of the 2026 NFL season with a largely healthy roster. The team has successfully avoided major injuries during the offseason, which bodes well as they head into Week 1.
However, two players on the active roster are currently dealing with injuries. Defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard has been sidelined due to an abs/groin injury. He was seen participating in rehabilitation activities on September 1, and while he has not been placed on injured reserve, it remains uncertain if he will be ready for the season opener.
Ajani Cornelius, another player facing injury concerns, also missed practice on September 2 but was observed doing rehab work the day before. His performance in training camp was strong, which secured him a reserve spot on the team. Depending on his recovery, he may have a chance to play in the upcoming game.
Additionally, the Cowboys have placed linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore on injured reserve. Liufau suffered a fractured forearm during the preseason finale, which required surgery. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that Liufau is a competitive player and is expected to return after the mandatory four-week absence.
Moore has been dealing with a hip injury and previously missed time in training camp due to a groin issue. His injury history raises concerns about his ability to contribute this season, as he has faced challenges since his college days.
