This incident occurred on the same day both teams were fined $500,000 for their earlier actions.
The latest scuffle involved Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown. According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, the confrontation began when Ferguson reacted negatively to a tackle, leading him to throw the ball at Overshown. Fortunately, the situation was quickly diffused, and it did not escalate further.
The NFL's fines were imposed after a joint practice on Tuesday, which reportedly saw over ten fights, including pushing, shoving, and punches thrown. One notable incident involved Cowboys edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku, who was ejected from practice for throwing a punch, marking his second ejection during training camp.
Despite the intensity displayed by the players, head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed disappointment over the disruptions caused by the fights, stating that they detracted from the essential work that needed to be accomplished. He emphasized the importance of maintaining focus during practice sessions.
