The Houston Texans have made roster changes by signing former Vikings center Gavin Gerhardt and quarterback Mark Gronowski to their practice squad. This move necessitated the release of rookie defensive tackle Dominic Bailey, as reported by KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson on September 8.

Bailey's release follows a brief return to the practice squad after being among the players cut down to the 53-man roster earlier. Alongside Bailey, the Texans also released Ka’ena De Cambra, who had just been signed on September 1. This indicates a direct swap for Gerhardt and De Cambra as the Texans adjust their lineup.

Gerhardt, a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, brings experience as a 49-game starter and is noted for his leadership and high football IQ. He is viewed as a center-only prospect, which may limit his chances on the roster, but his skills in blocking and protection awareness have been highlighted as strengths.

The Texans now have Gerhardt joining their offensive line, which includes starter Evan Brown and 2025 starter Jake Andrews, as well as rookie first-round pick Keylan Rutledge. The team will look to maximize Gerhardt's potential in their ongoing roster adjustments.
