The Houston Cougars have added former Arizona State safety Myles Rowser to their roster after he became eligible under new NCAA rules. Rowser, who did not redshirt during his freshman year and did not sign a professional NFL contract, can now take advantage of a fifth season of eligibility.
Rowser's collegiate career has included stints at Campbell, New Mexico State, and Arizona State, where he accumulated a total of 295 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, and 16 passes defended. In the 2025 season, he recorded 84 tackles and achieved a career-high four tackles for loss while earning a spot on the All-Big 12 Third Team.
The Cougars are well-stocked at the safety position, featuring veterans Kentrell Webb and Jordan Allen, who had 71 and 48 tackles respectively last season. Additionally, they have secured Tulane safety Javion White, who contributed 50 tackles in the past season. With Rowser's addition, there may be opportunities to shift some players to different positions, such as the nickel corner spot.
