Dallas Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson left the Week 3 game against the Baltimore Ravens with a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable to return on Sept. 27, 2026.
Thompson was hurt during a second-quarter tackle attempt when his left leg was placed awkwardly. He stayed on the field before limping to the blue medical tent.
The injury came after Dallas had already lost free safety Malik Hooker to a forearm injury in Week 1. Starting cornerback Cobie Durant then went out with a hamstring injury in Week 2, followed by Hooker’s replacement, PJ Locke, who suffered a foot injury.
Before the Ravens game, Dallas promoted slot defender Reddy Steward from its practice squad. Rookie first-round pick Caleb Downs had been playing in that role to begin the season and has experience at safety from his college career.
Markquese Bell started alongside Thompson. Bell was penalized for defensive pass interference on a play that helped set up Derrick Henry’s second touchdown of the first half. Alijah Clark entered the game after Thompson left.
