North Texas will begin its 2026-27 men's basketball schedule at home against Southwest Christian on Nov. 2, with nine of 13 nonconference games set for the Super Pit. The schedule was issued by UNT Athletics and second-year coach Daniyal Robinson.
The opening homestand also includes McNeese on Nov. 5, Santa Clara on Nov. 11 and South Alabama on Nov. 14. McNeese and Santa Clara played in the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, while South Alabama appeared in the NIT. Overall, the slate features three NCAA Tournament teams and two NIT teams from the previous season.
UNT's first road game is Nov. 20 at App State in Boone, North Carolina. From Nov. 27-29, the Mean Green will compete in the Snake Rivers Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho, against Drake, North Dakota State and Boise State.
The team's remaining nonconference games include Bradley on Dec. 4, Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 6, Texas State at Fort Worth's Dickies Arena on Dec. 13, and home games against Winthrop on Dec. 16, Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 20 and the University of the Southwest on Dec. 22.
The Texas State game is part of the Coast-to-Coast Challenge, which UNT is joining for a second straight year. The American Conference schedule will be announced later.
