The Houston Texans are increasingly hopeful that Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins and guard Ed Ingram will return for Sunday’s Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Neither player has appeared in the past two games.
Coach DeMeco Ryans said the team is "hopeful to get both guys back this week." Their potential return comes as the Texans have experienced reduced production in both their running and passing games during their absences.
Collins has been a central part of Houston’s offense, recording three seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards. In the last two games, Xavier Hutchinson led the Texans with nine receptions for 120 yards. Collins previously had seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in one game against the Buffalo Bills.
Ed Ingram’s absence has led Wyatt Teller to start at right guard. Houston has produced 130 rushing yards and one touchdown across the past two games.
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney remains considered week-to-week because of a knee injury. He also has missed the last two games. Despite the shortage of edge defenders, Houston recorded five sacks and caused two fumbles in its previous game.
