Parker, who previously served as the passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, is taking on his first role as an NFL defensive coordinator.
Williams emphasized the team's development since the offseason, stating, "It's been amazing — from where we started off in OTAs to where we are at now."
In 2025, the Cowboys struggled defensively, ranking last in the NFL in opponent passing yards and points allowed. Their previous defensive coordinator, Matt Eberflus, was replaced after a disappointing season. Under the prior leadership of Dan Quinn, the Cowboys had seen more success, ranking among the top defenses in the league from 2021 to 2023.
