The Dallas Cowboys will be without four defensive players for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, safeties P.J. Locke and Malik Hooker, and cornerback Cobie Durant have been ruled out.
The absences include three defensive starters. Locke, who is also a key backup and the team’s third safety option, will not be available against a Baltimore offense featuring Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Dallas ranked among the NFL’s bottom three defenses in total yards allowed in 2025 and entered this season’s third game ranked 29th among 32 teams after two games.
There is a possibility that Overshown and Hooker could return when Dallas plays the Houston Texans in Week 4. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said the team has not eliminated that possibility, according to reporting cited by Heavy.com.
Overshown is dealing with a hamstring strain, while Hooker is recovering from a fractured forearm. Both injuries occurred during the season-opening game against the New York Giants, and both players also missed Dallas’ Week 2 victory over Washington.
Overshown serves as the defense’s on-field signal caller, and Hooker was previously selected in the first round of the NFL draft. Neither player has been cleared to return, and it is not yet clear whether either will play against Houston. Durant and Locke are considered unlikely to be ready for that game because of hamstring and foot injuries, respectively.
