North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks has changed his commitment from Stephen F. Austin to TCU, joining the Horned Frogs’ 2027 recruiting class. Brooks announced the decision on social media Sept. 17 and said conversations with his family and personal prayer helped guide him. He also cited a desire to stay near home.
Brooks, listed at 6 feet 5 and 265 pounds, had mainly been recruited by Football Championship Subdivision schools, including SFA and Southern University. TCU represents his first offer from a Football Bowl Subdivision program. Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.
The lineman has helped North Crowley begin the season 3-0. The Panthers have defeated Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. North Crowley is set to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday.
Brooks is the 19th commitment in TCU’s 2027 class. According to a report from sports.yahoo.com, the group ranks 54th nationally and eighth in the Big 12.
