Dalton Schultz, a tight end for the Houston Texans, did not play in any of the team's three preseason games this year. Alongside Schultz, offensive starters including wide receiver Nico Collins and running back David Montgomery also sat out, while quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited action during the game against the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a successful 2025 regular season, where he achieved a career-high 82 receptions and recorded 777 receiving yards, marking his best performance since 2021 when he played for the Cowboys.
With Jayden Higgins sidelined for the entire 2026 season due to a knee injury and Tank Dell starting the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are expected to be key targets for Stroud in the upcoming season.
Further details regarding Schultz's absence from the preseason games have not yet been provided.
