Nico Collins was absent from the portion of Houston’s Wednesday practice open to reporters, raising the possibility that the Texans wide receiver could miss a second consecutive game. Houston is preparing for its Week 3 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.

Collins was listed among several players who did not participate in the media-access portion of the session. Tight end Dalton Schultz, offensive linemen Trent Brown and Ed Ingram, and edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney were also reported absent from that portion of practice. Their availability for the game was not provided.

Collins has missed Houston’s past three practice sessions and did not play against the Cincinnati Bengals after sustaining a Grade 1 hamstring strain during preparation for that game. Although the injury is considered minor, the report said it could keep him out for more than one week. His practice participation later in the week will help determine whether he is available against Indianapolis.

The Texans were 0-2 after their first two games. Without Collins against Cincinnati, no Houston wide receiver had more than three receptions or 40 receiving yards. Schultz led the team’s passing production in that game with 12 catches for 140 yards.

If Collins cannot play, Xavier Hutchinson, Kayshon Boutte and Jaylin Noel would be among the receivers expected to take on larger roles. The three combined for seven receptions against Cincinnati. SI.com reported that Collins could potentially remain out until Houston’s Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys, though his status was not yet clear.
