The Houston Texans have announced the signing of running back Deuce Vaughn, who previously played for the Denver Broncos. Vaughn, who stands 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, joined the Broncos' practice squad in September 2025 and remained there for the entire season. He re-signed with Denver on a reserve/future contract in January but was released in May.
Following his departure from the Broncos, Vaughn played for the UFL's Orlando Storm before returning to the NFL with the Texans.
To accommodate Vaughn's signing, the Texans have waived wide receiver Juwann Winfree, who also has a history with the Broncos. Additionally, the Texans conducted workouts with former Denver receiver Josh Reynolds and running back Blake Watson, as noted in the NFL's transaction wire.
Currently, four other former Broncos practice squad players are still free agents after their contracts expired in February. These players include quarterback Ben DiNucci, tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Patrick Murtagh, and defensive back Delarrin Turner-Yell.
