Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko has confirmed that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the remainder of the 2026 season following a lower-body injury sustained during practice, necessitating surgery. This injury marks a significant setback for the Aggies, as Williams is the third wide receiver to be sidelined before the season's start.
Williams was absent from the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines. Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson was removed from the roster after transferring from Houston, and Jerome Myles, a former five-star recruit, also left the program due to personal issues. Myles had missed the entire 2025 season due to injury.
In light of Williams' absence, Texas A&M will depend on its remaining wide receivers, including Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. Freshman Aaron Gregory made an immediate impact in the opener with a touchdown catch and two receptions totaling 22 yards. Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will also see increased opportunities, with Johnson recording three catches for 25 yards.
The team plans to finalize its wide receiver depth chart in the upcoming games before facing LSU in Baton Rouge.
