Texas A&M will keep Marcel Reed as its starting quarterback for now, coach Mike Elko said after the No. 23 Aggies fell 35-6 to No. 10 LSU. Asked whether Reed could lose the job, Elko responded, "No." TexAgs posted the exchange on X, and Yahoo Sports reported it.
Reed went 10-for-26 against LSU, producing 106 passing yards and one interception. His 38.4% completion mark was identified in the report as possibly the lowest of his college career.
Across four games this season, Reed has accumulated 738 passing yards, six touchdown passes and four interceptions. He has completed 55.4% of his throws, a career-low percentage, while also running for 104 yards and a touchdown. His previous season included 3,169 passing yards and 25 touchdowns.
Texas A&M is set to face Arkansas in Week 5 on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. EST. The Razorbacks enter that game with a 2-2 record.
