Nimmo Drives In Runs
Jake Nimmo provided the decisive offensive spark for the Texas Rangers, driving in three runs with a crucial two-out double in the sixth inning. His performance helped Texas secure a 7-6 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday at Truist Park.
Nimmo’s hit plated two runners, breaking a 5-5 tie and giving the Rangers a lead they would not relinquish. The Rangers added insurance in the seventh inning when Andrew McCutchen’s earlier efforts were complemented by a run scored on a double by Adolis Garcia. However, the final tally rested on Nimmo’s ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Early Inning Action
The game began with momentum shifting quickly. In the first inning, Josh Jung launched a home run to right field, measuring 419 feet, to give Texas an early 1-0 advantage. The Braves responded in the second inning with a flurry of offense.
Matt Olson homered to left field, followed by a single by Austin Riley that scored Seager. Riley then scored on a single by Matt Harris, and Michael Harris II drove in another run with a sacrifice fly, pushing the Braves ahead 4-1.
Texas answered in the third inning. Josh Jung singled to left, scoring Seager, and Nimmo followed with a single to right, scoring Jung. Michael Harris II then homered to right field, giving Atlanta a 5-3 lead.
The Rangers chipped away in the sixth inning. Corey Seager homered to right field, a 356-foot shot that scored Andrew McCutchen, tying the game at 5-5. Nimmo’s subsequent double to center field scored two more runs, putting Texas ahead 7-5.
