The Chicago White Sox entered Wednesday’s contest at Globe Life Field with hopes of securing a victory, but they were unable to generate any offensive production against the Texas Rangers. The White Sox finished with zero runs on the board, while the Rangers tallied 10 runs to secure a decisive 10-0 win.
The final score left Chicago with a record of 53-47, while Texas improved to 51-50.
Rangers Offense Dominates Early
Texas jumped on the board in the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead when Nimmo hit a 351-foot home run to left field, driving in Langford. The Rangers continued to apply pressure in the third inning. Burger doubled to left, allowing Jung to score and putting Nimmo in scoring position.
The offensive output accelerated in the fourth inning. Osuna singled to left, bringing Díaz home to make it 4-0. Osuna scored the next run when Lopez singled to center, extending the lead to 5-0.
The Rangers added two more runs in the fifth inning when Osuna singled to right, allowing Duran and Cauley to score. Langford then homered to left (397 feet), scoring Osuna and pushing the score to 9-0.
Duran added the final run in the sixth inning with a single to left that scored Nimmo, capping the scoring at 10-0. The Rangers recorded 18 total hits in the game, showcasing a comprehensive offensive performance.
