Rangers Erase Early Deficit

The Texas Rangers defeated the Los Angeles Angels 5-3 on Sunday at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The home team rallied from a three-run hole to secure the victory, improving their record to 65-66. The Angels, who fell to 52-79, had built an early lead that they were unable to protect in the late innings.

Durán and Díaz Power Rangers

The Angels took an early lead in the bottom of the second inning. Luis Durán homered to left center, driving in a run. Later in the same frame, O’Hoppe scored on a triple by Freeman, and Freeman himself scored on a sacrifice fly by Díaz.

The Angels extended their lead in the fifth inning when Díaz homered to left center. Seager scored on a sacrifice fly by Nimmo, giving Los Angeles a 5-0 advantage heading into the late innings.

Quantrill Anchors Rangers Staff

Cal Quantrill earned the win, pitching six scoreless innings. He allowed six hits and struck out six batters while walking none. The Rangers’ bullpen managed the rest of the game, though they allowed two earned runs. Chase Silseth recorded the save, pitching one-third of an inning without allowing a hit, run, or walk. He struck out none and walked one.

Angels Struggle in Late Innings

The Rangers began their comeback in the eighth inning. Neto homered to left center, cutting the deficit to two. Lowe’s sacrifice fly scored Ballesteros, and Grissom scored on a single by Campero.

The Angels’ starting pitcher, Yusei Kikuchi, took the loss. He pitched five innings, allowing seven hits and five earned runs while striking out four and walking one. The attendance at Globe Life Field was 31,593.
