Duran’s four RBIs lift Rangers past Giants 5-4 at Globe Life Field

Duran decides it late

San Francisco twice climbed out of two-run deficits, but Ezequiel Duran delivered the last run Texas needed on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Duran drove in four runs, including a ninth-inning ground-rule double that scored Burger and sent the Rangers past the Giants 5-4 before an announced attendance of 26,959. Duran also singled home Seager in the first inning and doubled home Langford and Seager in the eighth.

Rangers strike first

Texas took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Nimmo doubled to right, scoring Pederson and moving Seager to third. Duran followed with a single to right that scored Seager and put Nimmo at third.

MacKenzie Gore kept San Francisco off the board over 6.0 innings. He allowed three hits and three walks while striking out four. Blade Tidwell allowed two earned runs on six hits in 5.0 innings for San Francisco, with one walk and three strikeouts.

The Giants tied it in the top of the seventh. Basabe homered to left, a 377-foot drive that brought in Gilbert and made it 2-2. It was the only home run of the game.

Lead changes in final innings

Texas moved back in front in the bottom of the eighth. Duran doubled to right, scoring Langford and Seager, with Nimmo advancing to third, for a 4-2 Rangers lead.

San Francisco answered in the top of the ninth. Eldridge singled to right, scoring Gilbert and McCray to tie the game at 4. In the bottom of the ninth, Duran hit a ground-rule double, Burger scored and Seager moved to third, ending the scoring at 5-4.

Bullpen lines and records

For Texas, Chase Silseth allowed two earned runs on one hit and one walk in 0.2 innings and was charged with a blown save, his fourth. Robby Ahlstrom pitched 1.0 inning with no hits, no walks and two strikeouts, and Peyton Gray recorded 0.1 innings with one strikeout. Jacob Latz allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk in 1.0 inning, struck out one, was credited with the win and was charged with a blown save, his third.

Dylan Smith took the loss for San Francisco, falling to 0-4. The Rangers are 56-58, and the Giants are 48-66.
