Later in the same frame, Benintendi doubled to right, driving in Antonacci, Vargas, and Murakami to give Chicago a 5-2 lead. This three-run double was the pivotal offensive play of the contest.
Texas managed to score in the seventh when Burger homered to left center, a 408-foot shot, making the score 5-3. However, the White Sox offense exploded in the ninth inning. Vargas doubled to left to bring Meidroth home, followed by Acuña’s single to right that scored two more runs.
