Texas Rangers left-hander Jacob Latz has been named to the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, his first career selection. The 30-year-old reliever was chosen by the Commissioner's Office as the Rangers' lone representative for the July 14 Midsummer Classic at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

Latz won the American League Reliever of the Month award for June after leading the majors with 11 saves while posting a 1.13 ERA across 16 innings. He struck out 19 batters and walked just four in that stretch, and his 11 saves established a new Rangers franchise record for a single month.

For the season, Latz owns a 1.71 ERA and a 0.62 WHIP, limiting opposing hitters to a .120 batting average. He leads MLB in saves of four or more outs with nine and multi-inning saves with five, a testament to the trust manager Skip Schumaker has placed in him since naming him the closer in late June.

The selection makes Latz just the ninth reliever in Rangers and Senators franchise history to reach the All-Star Game, and the first since Kirby Yates earned the nod in 2024. Latz also recorded three saves of two-plus innings in June, a figure no other MLB pitcher has matched all season long.

Latz, a fifth-round draft pick in 2017 out of Kent State, said he will remember the announcement and the congratulations from teammates forever. He called being recognized as one of the better players in baseball a feeling that is hard to put into words, and said he is excited to put together another strong second half.
