Family historians can spend most of Friday on their research at Haggard Library, which is hosting Plano Public Library's part of the 25th annual Genealogy Lock-In.
The library describes the Oct. 16 event as a day of genealogy research webinars shared with libraries across Texas. People can attend in person at Haggard Library, 2501 Coit Road, or join online. Registration is required, and the library says registrants get a viewing link the day before.
The lineup
The program, revised Sept. 16, runs from 9 a.m. to a final session that starts at 5 p.m., with a lunch break from 11:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sessions are rated beginner or intermediate:

- 10 a.m.: Census, church, civil and emigration records for Scottish ancestors.
- 11 a.m.: Cluster research, tracing an ancestor's neighbors and associates.
- 12:30 p.m.: A beginner's session on starting a family tree with a repeatable research process.
