Dallas returns to Golden State on Friday, October 2, with the first-round playoff series tied and the home team having won each of the first two games. The deciding Game 3 begins at 8 p.m. Central at Chase Center on ESPN2.
The Valkyries posted a 17–5 home record during the regular season. They then defeated the Wings 104–80 in the September 27 playoff opener, their first postseason victory. Dallas has lost all three visits to the San Francisco arena this season.
Wednesday’s game in Arlington produced a different result. Arike Ogunbowale scored a WNBA playoff-record 45 points as Dallas won 108–100 in overtime. Gabby Williams scored 36 for Golden State, but the Valkyries could not close out the series.
Ogunbowale tied the game with a three-pointer 4.1 seconds before the end of regulation and scored 11 of Dallas’ 15 overtime points. Alysha Clark’s 21 points and Aziaha James’ 13 provided additional scoring for the Wings.
