Coit Road Chipotle Hosts Student Dementia-Care Fundraiser Sept. 1

The Chipotle at 9625 Coit Road will spend four hours on Tuesday evening working as a fundraiser.

From 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, twenty-five percent of sales at the restaurant, near Coit and State Highway 121, will be donated to Aiding Alzheimer's, a student-run organization supporting people living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Turning up hungry is not by itself enough. Under Chipotle's fundraiser rules, an in-person order counts only if the customer tells the cashier they are there for the fundraiser, or shows the flyer on a phone or on paper.

Who is behind it

The group is based at Centennial High School in Frisco, further north on the same road. Organizers describe it as student-led, created to bring more care, connection and resources to dementia communities.

Money raised will be donated to dementia care facilities in the Frisco area and to facilities in rural communities, organizers say, where they describe access to activities, supplies and other support as more limited.

Those details come from the organizers. Aiding Alzheimer's is a student group rather than a registered charity with public filings and has no website. Its Instagram account is @aidingalzheimers.

The fine print

Ordering ahead also works, but only for pickup. Orders placed on the Chipotle app or website during the window need the code HBFL7N6 entered in the promo field. Delivery orders do not count toward a fundraiser, and neither do orders placed at another time or at a different Chipotle.

There is also a floor. The flyer states that event sales have to reach $150 before any donation is made at all, so a quiet Tuesday does not simply mean a smaller check for the group.

Restaurant fundraisers of this kind are a standing Chipotle program: a group books a window, promotes it to its own community, and the company returns a share of sales from customers who identify themselves at the register or with the code.
