JPMorgan Chase has committed millions of dollars to various nonprofit groups in central Ohio as part of an initiative aimed at bolstering the regional workforce during a period of national economic recovery.
The financial institution is directing $2.7 million specifically to organizations operating in the Columbus area, including the National Center for Urban Solutions, the Columbus Urban League, Jewish Family Services, the Godman Guild Association, Impact Community Action, and Goodwill Industries of Central Ohio.
In addition to the central Ohio funding, the bank is providing $1.3 million to groups in Cleveland and Cincinnati. These funds are designated to advance career pathways, strengthen regional workforce pipelines, and support economic mobility for residents across the state. The total investment amounts to $4 million distributed among these three major metropolitan areas.
JPMorgan Chase maintains a significant presence in the region, employing nearly 20,000 individuals in central Ohio. The company’s efforts in Columbus are primarily focused on assisting low-to-moderate income residents in securing and retaining employment within high-demand sectors such as health care, information technology, manufacturing, and construction.
To achieve these goals, the bank is supporting initiatives that include paid training programs, career coaching, and sector-specific instruction. The funding also aims to remove barriers to employment by providing support services such as transportation assistance for job training and applications.
Lisa Gray, president of Ohio Excels, commented on the investment in a press release. She stated that Ohio’s workforce thrives when business, education, and community leaders work together. Gray applauded JPMorgan Chase for its longstanding dedication to investing in Ohio’s workforce and supporting innovative solutions that will benefit communities across the state.
