The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a reported bank robbery that occurred in the Granada Hills neighborhood on Wednesday morning. Officers responded to the scene shortly after 10:02 a.m. following a call regarding a possible robbery and extortion at a local financial institution.
A department spokesperson confirmed the nature of the incident to KTLA. Video footage obtained from Citizen.com captured an LAPD SUV parked outside a Bank of America branch located in the 16900 block of San Fernando Mission Boulevard.
According to police reports, the two male suspects had already left the area before law enforcement arrived on the scene. Investigators noted that the men were observed departing in a gray Honda Civic. The license plates on the vehicle were not immediately identifiable or recorded.
At this time, detailed physical descriptions of the suspects are not available to the public. It is also not yet clear whether the individuals successfully took any money or other property before escaping.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify and locate the two men involved in the incident.
