Plano ISD opened applications Thursday, Oct. 1, for its 2027–28 academy programs, with a Nov. 10 deadline. Families can learn about the options at the Plano for Your Future Expo from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Vines High School, 140 Highedge Drive.

The district lists programs in project-based learning, electrical engineering, health sciences, college-degree study and the International Baccalaureate diploma. Its academy page directs district families to the Forms section of Skyward Family Access and provides a separate application for out-of-district and homeschool families. That public form states applications must arrive by 5 p.m. Nov. 10.

Current eighth graders interested in entering the IB World School at Plano East next school year should apply this fall, according to the program’s admissions timeline. Families should review the individual program’s entry requirements before applying.

The next listed information night is for the Electrical Engineering Academy on Monday, Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Jasper High School, 6800 Archgate Drive. Other academy information nights follow later in October.

Application links and the full information-night schedule are available on Plano ISD’s academy-programs page. All times are local to Plano.
