JPMorgan Chase is removing 244 roles from its large Plano facility, a move that accounts for approximately 2 percent of the site’s staff. The financial institution, which employs more than 12,000 people at this location, describes the campus as one of its biggest employment centers outside of New York.

The reductions primarily target fraud specialist positions and stem from the bank’s choice to stop inbound call center operations for fraud and customer protection services within its consumer and community banking division. According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice submitted to the Texas Workforce Commission, the layoffs are scheduled to start on Aug. 21.

Affected workers will receive severance packages, and some may be eligible for relocation help. It remains unclear how many employees will take advantage of relocation options or if additional cuts are planned for the site.
