A Plano man is facing murder and abuse of a corpse charges after law enforcement discovered the body of his wife inside their residence. Jake Bigoni, 37, was taken into custody on August 14 following the discovery of 34-year-old Eliana Bigoni's remains in the trunk of a vehicle parked at The Parker Apartments.

The incident began when a witness contacted Plano police on August 12 regarding concerns for Eliana’s safety. The caller noted that Eliana was undergoing a divorce and had become unreachable. She had shared her phone location, which showed she arrived at the apartment complex around 7:17 a.m., but she failed to appear for a planned breakfast later that morning.

Officers arrived at the complex shortly after 10:23 a.m. to conduct a welfare check. Jake Bigoni answered the door and stated his wife had been there earlier but he did not know her current location. He told officers his car was missing and agreed to let them inspect the garage, where a white Hyundai Genesis sedan was parked.

As officers returned to their vehicles, they received updated information indicating someone might have been harmed. They contacted Jake’s mother, who reported that her son had called her earlier that day stating, "She’s dead." The affidavit notes he told her they had fought and she was deceased.

Upon returning to the apartment, officers observed a reddish-brown stain on Jake’s shirt, which he claimed was from cleaning. They entered the unit and located Eliana in the trunk of the Hyundai. She was unresponsive and showed signs of significant trauma. Her clothing appeared damaged and covered in blood.

Police removed two young children from the apartment to preserve evidence. Jake Bigoni remains in custody on charges of murder and abuse of a corpse. The specific circumstances leading to her death are not yet clear.
