Avelo Airlines has identified five nonstop destinations for its inaugural service at McKinney National Airport, with flights scheduled to begin on November 11, 2026. The carrier will operate routes to Las Vegas, Nevada, and four Florida cities: Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa.

The launch of these flights aligns with the opening of a newly constructed 46,000-square-foot passenger terminal at the airport, located at 1910 FM 546 in McKinney. McKinney is about 13 miles north of Plano. The terminal, which is expected to be completed in November 2026, will feature four boarding gates with the capacity to expand to six, centralized food and beverage concessions, and a 980-space public parking lot. Onsite car rental facilities and ground transportation services will also be available.

Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy described the airline as the anchor tenant and launch carrier for the airport. He stated that the airline plans to base two aircraft at the facility, a move intended to reflect a long-term commitment to the region. Levy noted that this investment is expected to generate more than 100 new jobs, including positions for pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, baggage handlers, and gate agents. The airline will also establish McKinney as one of five national crew bases.

The flight schedule will run from Wednesdays through Mondays. Officials highlighted that the timing allows travelers to plan trips around the Veterans Day holiday. Avelo emphasized its strategy of offering low fares and utilizing a smaller airport environment to serve North Texas travelers.

City of McKinney Mayor Bill Cox welcomed the announcement, stating that the new service reflects demand for convenient air travel closer to home. He added that the development reinforces McKinney’s role in the region’s future growth and its appeal to residents and businesses. McKinney National Airport Director of Aviation Ken Carley expressed gratitude to the partners and agencies involved in the project, noting that years of planning have led to this milestone.

Further details regarding specific ticket prices or the exact number of daily flights were not provided in the source material.
