Construction officially commenced on June 30 for Rosamond Town Center, a major retail project in Anna, Texas. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives from Big V Property Group, The Seitz Group, Principal Asset Management, and Citizens Bank, alongside local city leaders. The event took place at the southeast corner of Rosamond Parkway and Highway 75.
The new facility will span 355,826 square feet and function as an open-air shopping destination. It is designed to anchor a larger 750,000-square-foot development known as Rosamond Crossing. The project is financed through developer equity, loans from Principal Asset Management, and construction financing provided by Citizens Bank. Major tenants are expected to include Academy Sports + Outdoors, Aldi, Burlington, EOS Fitness, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, PetSmart, and T.J. Maxx, along with various specialty stores and outparcels.
Anna Mayor Pete Cain described the project as a critical milestone for the community, noting that it will add 750 jobs and expand the local tax base. Danielle Kaufman, representing The Seitz Group, emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving such developments. Kenton McKeehan, president of Big V Property Group, stated that the team is proud to contribute to the region's growth, noting that the development extends the Metroplex retail footprint by nine miles.
Texas Representative Keresa Richardson, who represents District 61, highlighted the significance of the project during the nation's 250th anniversary celebrations. She praised Texas for leading national growth trends and described Anna as a desirable place to live and work. U.S. Representative Keith Self also recognized the effort, with District Director Michelle Bishop presenting a Congressional Commendation to the development team.
The Rosamond centers are situated in what developers describe as some of the fastest-growing communities in the country. Anna is projected to experience population growth at a rate 13 times faster than the national average over the next decade. The city is located between McKinney and Sherman, positioning it as a connective node within the broader Metroplex region.
