BasePoint, a Texas-based behavioral health organization, opened a new BreakThrough location in McKinney on June 17. The facility is designed to expand access to partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for individuals between the ages of 18 and 35. McKinney is located approximately 13 miles north of Plano.
This opening marks the fourth physical site for the organization, which currently operates locations in Arlington, Frisco, and Forney. The McKinney center is situated at 4601 Medical Center Drive and operates daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
BasePoint states that the new location addresses critical needs for young adults who face rising rates of anxiety and depression. The organization cites recent U.S. Census data indicating that less than one in four young adults has reached key life milestones, alongside Texas ranking 50th in access to mental health care. The facility aims to support education, employment, and relationship building during this transitional life stage.
Hope Windsor, executive director of the McKinney facility, said the center responds to the complexity young adults face, which she described as distinct from previous generations. She noted that the BreakThrough program expands support systems similar to those provided by the organization's Academy program for adolescents. Windsor stated that the team is equipped to serve the community by recognizing emerging adulthood as a specific developmental phase.
In addition to clinical services, BasePoint provides free transportation within 25 miles of any of its locations and conducts assessments on a daily basis. The organization recently became the first in Texas to receive the Program of the Year designation from the Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare.
